Futuristic first-person shooter RPG

RoboCop: Rogue City is a riveting action game that enables players to take on the role of RoboCop, a cybernetic organism designed to fight crime and bring order to society. Similar to the original film series, users will have to navigate through a gritty, urban environment while thwarting violent activities before criminals take hold of the city.

This game is similar to other sci-fi shooters, such as Broforce, particularly in regard to how its developers were inspired by the 1980s movie franchise. Therefore, players can expect RoboCop: Rogue City to enjoy the same hard-hitting action that has come to define RoboCop over the years.

Heading back to old Detroit

RoboCop: Rogue City takes place within Old Detroit, a metropolis known for rampant crime waves and forbidding streets. Players must explore a dark open-world environment and confront criminals whenever an infraction is detected. While this game is geared toward contemporary players, it contains many of the features that fans of the original RoboCop have come to adore. Examples include the ED-209 autonomous robot, a unique first-person targeting system, and abandoned factories.

One feature that allows the game to stand out involves its highly detailed graphics. Realistic backlighting, detailed characters, and smooth gameplay all provide a sense of gritty realism to Old Detroit. Players can look forward to exploring familiar locations from the iconic franchise, and even hearing the voice of Peter Weller—the original actor who played the role of the titular protagonist.

To aid you in your adventures, you have the opportunity to choose from one of 21 unique and powerful weapons. As you continue to progress further into the game, you’ll also be able to upgrade your robotic strengths and cybernetic abilities. Keep in mind, though, that each of your choices can greatly affect the outcome of your missions, as well as the people around you.

Switch release scrapped

While RoboCop: Rogue City was originally planned to be released on a variety of platforms—including Nintendo Switch—developers have instead opted to cancel its Switch release. Developers stated on the game’s official Facebook page that they “do not have any plans for a Nintendo Switch release” despite the platform’s logo being included in the original teaser trailer for the game. However, the game will still be made available on Windows, PlayStation5, and Xbox Series X|S upon release.

Intelligent mayhem

Similar to other FPS platforms, such as IGI 2: Covert Strike, players have a fair amount of latitude in terms of strategic decisions in RoboCop: Rogue City. This provides a host of combat possibilities alongside some not-so-pleasant surprises. The only question remaining is whether or not Alex Murphy will be able to fend off increasingly violent criminal gangs in order to save Old Detroit.
